I never liked Marilyn Manson
I always have thought his choice of lip-stick is revolting.

1. No arguement here
After Alice Cooper, Kiss and Twisted Sister I was hoping the whole shock rock thing would just die.

The lipstick in that picture, while meant to look gory, is just clownish.

The only thing he did right are his video productions, which are a total ripoff of Joel Peter Witkin, who is a genius.

3. He's not very talented, musically, but man can he market to the underbelly
That guy made a LOT of money appealing to the unappealing masses. And all the reprimands and boycotts only made him MORE money. He's a smart guy. Twisted, but smart.

4. Yeah, me either.
He's a bit too creepy for my tastes. What's with his eyes??

I hear he's really smart, though.

6. I'm not a fan of his music, but I've seen him interviewed twice, and...
He is very clever and articulate.

It's no coincidence he is the most coherent person interviewed in Farenheit 9/11.

I'm not sure...

11. Nope, not a freakin' thing.
But I'm not surprised.

In any event, she is in the UK producing a movie, so I wouldn't expect to hear from her for a while, anyway.

Even still, I have decided to not put much hope in it.

12. Well, some of that writing you did when I first came into the
lounge was spectacularly funny...

I doff my hat to a master of the inane and the insane...

17. Ya, the interviewer asked him what he would say to the kids
Edited on Thu Oct-20-05 01:00 AM by hickman1937
at Columbine. He said something like "I wouldn't ask them anything. I'd listen to them." The guy is not stupid.
On edit, I never felt one way or the other about him till I saw that. He gets a pass, with respect, from me.

9. I like some of his stuff
Antichrist Superstar had some good tracks, as did some of his earlier releases, Mechanical Animals was definitely a turning point for his style.

New stuff is mostly junk, including the self-titled "This is the new shit". Indeed.

16. I liked Antichrist Superstar, too...
I also enjoyed his cover of 'Personal Jesus.' Very cool song--much better with him doing it than the original...

Mr Manson is tame in comparison.
