Remember my pedestrian/biker rant yesterday? A friend got hit by a cab!

Yesterday a friend at work was walking in a crosswalk -- she had the right-of-way -- and a cab driver hit her. She wasn't hurt badly but she is home today, largely immobile due to bruising and stiffness.

The cabby had no insurance.

THIS TOWN SUCKS!!

edit: this is the same friend whose drama I can't handle, BTW. But I knew she needed a show of support, so I went to the hospital yesterday. I am giving more than I have and I know it's a recipe for disaster. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x4165811

2. I walk as little as possible in this town. I NEVER cross against a

light, I NEVER jaywalk. When I drive, I NEVER try to hurry pedestrians along, and I get honked at because of it. :banghead:

3. I hate most cabbies

One douche almost ran over my feet, so I bent down, picked up a rock and gave his trunk a nice dent as he sped away. I wouldn't reccommend that, but I was angry and irrational; if the guy had stopped, I would have ripped him out of the cab and beat his ass.

6. I carry an umbrella, no matter the weather, and if a cabby comes

too close to me I whack his fender. It's as far as I can go, li'l ol' passive-aggressive me.

I'd buy a ticket to a cabby fight, though. ;)

But of course. Best wishes for your friend --- so glad it was only minor injuries. Lots of ibuprofen in her future.
