Poll question: Halloween poll:Does anyone actually LIKE Mary Jane candies??
Edited on Thu Oct-27-05 01:13 PM by underpants

I find that hard to believe but they do keep making them.....or at least it would seem that way*.

*Lewis Black does a great bit about Candy Corns and how they don't ever have to advertise for them (ever seen a Candy Corn ad?) and that they just go around collect them each year to repackage and resell the next year.

I like Candy Corns but can't stand Mary Janes. BLEEECCHH!!

7. I haven't either.
Maybe they don't sell them in Seattle. I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the various candies out there. :D

19. Or eastern
We had them in New England. I kinda liked them as a kid but I'd eat anything that said "candy" on the wrapper when I was a kid.

4. Worst. Halloween. Candy. EVER!
My hatred for these peanut butter-and-dust bricks runs deep, because when I was little I used to get tons of these stupid things and then me and my cousins had fights throwing them at each other. They did some damage. I say dust because they tasted like the dust from the boxes that these people stored their lifetime supply of those shitty things in. Then they brought them out every damned halloween because they were either lazy, cheap or both.

When you come to my house, you don't get shitty candy such as this.

6. I actually preferred the literature from the old Christian lady
Didn't everyone have one of those old Christian ladies who gave out little pamphlets and maybe some pennies....now that I think about it she must have been really poor or something*

*she was probably saving the money so they could elect one of their kind to be a world leader or something.

17. I have never had one.
I had never even heard of them until an Unwrapped episode a couple of years ago.

Are they regional? I have never seen them anywhere.

22. They're not made to be eaten
They're made to drive trick-or-treaters away from your door. When you've had enough fun for the night, you get out the Mary Janes and the Chick tracts...and start passin' em out.

Word gets around quick, and you should be safe so long as the kids don't decide to throw a brick through your $1500 front window.

26. In the Navy
We would buy them in the ship's store. They were pretty much all that was left after a few weeks at sea. the bad thing was that they had gotten soft and the paper was sifficult to remove. So, we would stick them in the AC vents for a bit. After awhile the paper was easier to remove. I have not had one since. They were pretty tasty though as I recall.
