In the great communal stewpot that is DU, I occasionally drop in an onion or a pinch of salt or sugar, sometimes even something so substantial as a small piece of beef! My problem is that on occasion, the ingredient I contribute has spoiled or is otherwise inappropriate; not to worry, DU'ers regularly spit that bit out!
