The Simpsons have been on for what, 16 years?

Why does Fox keep playing the same 14 or so episodes of The Simpsons every week during the 6:00-7:00pm CST hour?

I swear, the one that is on right now, I have seen a 400 times since I started college a few years ago.

2. Licensing costs, I expect.

Costs less to grab a handful than to re-air the whole thing properly. Much less in the short term, though in long-term it would be cheaper.

But any economist/accountant will tell you that you need more money NOW and to spend less NOW. Short term stuff only.
