What is the point of declaring a 'child abduction emergency?'
and broadcasting it on TV, like just happened in DC? There was no information except a list of counties and an expiration time. So apparently DC is under a child abduction emergency. what am I supposed to do, exactly? anyone know? I assume this is somehow related to an Amber Alert, but there was no other information at all. what a complete waste of space.

you get more and better information from a storm alert.

1. They didn't even give the name and description of the child?
I agree, if all they said was "This is an emergency!" and listed the counties, but gave no other info, that seems a waste of time and resources.

2. no other information
just white text on a black screen, with the annoying emergency noise. No, "turn to channel 47 for more information" or "visit www.moreinfo.com for more information." just "Child Abduction Emergency in effect for the following counties: (scrolling list of counties here)"

no more. it was on every channel on my cable system except ABC and QVC.

3. Your supposed to check the labels on the necks of all your kids,
and make sure that you have the right ones. If you have an extra one, and can't find any documentation as to where it belongs, you are to turn it into Child Services within a week.

7. Nah, it's to tape the kid's mouth
Because if the kid screams, you get your picture on teevee. And they tell everybody all three of your names.
