Does anyone use StarOffice or OpenOffice? I loovvvvveee it!

For some reason, Word started hanging on my computer after it was open about 10 minutes. Because I'm doing the novel writy thing, I downloaded OpenOffice (apparently StarOffice is different now?) and I am loving it so much more than MS Office.

Maybe it's because it's free.

Anyone else using it?

1. Have in the past, It's okay.

There's a couple things it's missing that are deal breakers for me.

I'm using Pages now - seriously cheaper than word/office, more functional. Mac only, though.

Being on a Mac makes my options a bit limited, but there are times when a basic text editor is better for me than a full word processor. I've written two very long works in TextEdit (one thesis, one novel.)

2. YES.

Use it at work all the time - even though I have MS Office on the computer I use OO as my default for everything.

I also give it to many of our customers (I work for an ISP) that are poor (ie: average) and can't open their friend's email attachments.

3. i have used it here and there

It works ok for me, but I dont use MS Office type programs that much. It does a good job if you dont have access to MS Office.
