Husbands - A Rant by KitchenWitch
Edited on Thu Nov-10-05 06:17 PM by KitchenWitch
Don't get me wrong, I love my husband dearly, but man...

Last night, unbeknownst to me, he decided to turn the furnace on. Our daytime temperatures have been hitting the 60s but the temps at night have been in the low 40s. No biggie, right?

All day long, I have felt like I was in a blast furnace. So I check, and saw that the furnace was indeed on, and the thermostat was set to 80 fucking degrees fahrenheit. Suffice to say under normal conditions, I am a walking hotflash, but I was really suffering today.

We have a programmable thermostat, and I have always had the daytime temperature set to 63, and night time temperature to 60. It is sufficiently warm, and if anyone is cold they can put on a sweater.

Currently I have the air conditioner on, to couteract the blast furnace from earlier today.

means sleeping with the windows open in our house.

2. Men cannot control themselves around heating/cooling devices
That's just my observation after living with multiple males since I was 1. My father's greatest joy was shoveling coal into the furnace.

Or throwing firewood in.
I swear it was so hot inside the house some winter days that the wallpaper would peel off the walls any minute.

3. My husband does the same thing.
And the opposite in the summer... I'll find it set for 65.

5. I turned mine on last night.
To ~75 degrees F. It got down to ~24 degrees F last night for a low.

I was shivering all night long, but that's probably because I'm sick.

6. Your husband is going to temporarily lose his man privileges
For being colder than his wife. Behavior like this cannot stand. Really, did he not get a copy of the "man manual" like the rest of us?

He's allowed back in the club once he completes these three tasks:

1) Uses the toilet and leaves the seat up.
2) Drinks milk straight from the carton.
3) Farts in a socially unacceptable setting.

He can avoid numbers 1 and 2 as long as he completes #3 in a church.

11. Yeah, we love to mess with y'all.
One night after Miz t. was asleep I put on my glow-in-the-dark, full-face, Jason hockey mask. Climbed into bed and shook her shoulder.
"HI, HONEY!"

I only spent four nights on the couch and got the stitches out a couple of days later. You can hardly see the scar any more.
;-)

12. mine wants it turned down, which is fine by me
I pay all the bills, but then we have a furnace from the stone age. We were getting by with those radiator heaters, they are pretty nice. But it's Mid Nov. and we had to turn the furnace on. I'm just glad these was nothing wrong with it after the furnace check!
