My 2 bosses decided to celebrate thanksgiving by destroying the company!
Edited on Wed Nov-23-05 07:55 PM by Hardhead
They hate eachother and are feuding. One of them is intelligent and actually runs the company, but is autocratic and cantankerous. The other is the biggest idiot I ever knew, can't do anything right, takes lots of pills and smells pretty bad most days.

The intelligent one tried to buy out the Idiot, but the Idiot isn't going for it, so the smart one said, "You're on your own, then. I'm going to do like you and write myself a paycheck once a week and disappear the rest of the time."

He just dropped by and wished me well in dealing with the Idiot next week. And next month. And as long as it takes, even if he has to destroy the business. Our competitors will eat our lunch if we go down the tubes. The "smart" boss thinks he can revive the business at any time. I think it's a good thing I just polished my resume and my portfolio a couple of weeks ago. Crikey. I'm in a world of shit.

The bastard told me not to worry!!! HA! I'd have to be as dumb as the Idiot not to worry! How long will my job last? How will I pay my rent after I'm jailed for throttling the Idiot for the incompetent fuckwit that he is? Because really, there's no other option. Given two choices, one right and one wrong, he will INVARIABLY get it exactly wrong. He can be depended on to do that. And then he will snort his snot and grab his crotch and suck his teeth and breathe his foul miasma on me and talk for 30 minutes without saying one useful thing, and I will simply kill him, and that will be that. I don't play well with stupid people. And I AM irreplaceable.

I'm not a Diva, but I can be brutally frank, especially with the people who employ me. If I quit, there will be no unemployment. I'm stuck with the sorry bastard. I have to watch him run the company into the ground. I foresee lots and lots of yelling and cussing and throwing things in the weeks ahead.

Holy flipping FUCK.

For context: I live in a small town. Not many jobs in my field. One former employer once tried to blackball me from the profession (not uncommon for the field around here), so there are several places I need not even apply. What's left is slim pickens.

Holy flipping FUCK! I'm freaking.

1. Bummer. Any chance things will blow over once everyone has had
some time off?

Well, try to have a good weekend and then start kicking ass as soon as you get to the office on Monday, and call the idiot on it every time he screws up. Maybe he'll get a clue and let the "smart" one buy him out.

2. I hope it will blow over
But it's been five years in the making.

Four days of peace before I go back. I'll pretend the place doesn't exist.
