But, I remember reading about the "unrated" version of Basic Instinct. During some sex scenes, they substituted some distance shots that showed a lot of skin for the original close-ups of just the faces & shoulders. Granted, the scenes contained quite a bit of skin in the original, but the re-cut scenes showed even more.

to get the "rating" they needed, from PG to R. And of course, hours and hours and hours of ego shit of the producers commenting on the zipper closure rate of the star's costume.

I ALMOST fell for it today with the Alien vs. Predator DVD, but realized I need $15 more than the extra crap. (I bought the original movie, used, at Blockbuster for $5.99 anyway.)
