Is it possible to make jello by layering colors?
Make one, fridge it, make a second that sits on top - but when pouring the warm jello liquid it won't melt the existing layer?

1. Cool each new layer to room temp, chill just a bit
until consistancy of egg white, then spoon over the previous layer.

The big question is WHY?

Never understood jello.

Now, unflavored geletin mixed with REAL orange juice is another story...
Or tomato aspic, THAT I understand.

2. Why?
Novelty for Thxgiving.

I also use carbonated water or club soda for a goofy sparkly effect.

I like novelty.

Stuff the turkey, we've all been there and done that.

Now psychedelic jello. Of various, compatible, flavors... how could anyone resist! :D

4. Because Bill Cosby needed more money in 1986?

Sorry for the Rose moment, btw...

5. Don't suppose you are old enough to remember the old Royal Geletin
commercial with the little kids taking spoons to and eating a HUGE molded geletin dessert? It was several feet high.

I always wanted to don scuba gear, take a good run and smack into that damned thing. Never sure if my air bubbles would make it far enough that I could keep breathing.

Sorry, I had strep for an entire school year and then had my tonsils out at 17. Pretty much lived on the stuff for way too long. And I wasn't fond of it before that ;)

Now, tomato aspic... :D

7. Blimey!
Too young for that advert (early-1970s?), but it sounds cool. (they'd use computers today, of course... cheaters...)

Strep for a year sounds bloody AWFUL! And I can fathom why you'd end up not liking the stuff... (but just in case I also have a triple layer fudge chocolate cake with chocolate shavings covering the outside :9 I'd be happy to save you a piece! :) )

Tomato aspic... I like a lot of spicy and bizarre things, even lemon squeezey V8 mixed with red bull... but I could never get into that Tomato Aspic stuff... Maybe I ought to try it again. :D

9. 60s, and early at that!
Make the aspic with V8. Add some chopped peppers/onions, tabascio if you like some zip. Wonderful way to get A & C .

6. A real novelty would be to make the jello in the shape of a turkey
Then puree the bird and make it into a spread for crackers.

I may need to start drinking now...

11. Quite possible
Equally possible to add various different clear liquors to each layer.

You want "interesting" for Thanksgiving? A "Mexican Flag" layered jello mold (pan, whatever) is a real conversation starter.

Plain gelatin w/ tequila
Cherry jello w/ grenadine and vodka
Plain jello w/ creme de menthe

As noted above, let each layer chill. Put the cherry on the bottom. Chill layer on the clear/tequila. Then the menthe.

If you can do it in individual clear small containers, you'll be a jello deity, a veritable jello dionysus.

12. If I ever get a boyfriend or girlfriend, I'll keep that cool idea in mind!
But not for relatives. :D

(though they said the cake I brought in tasted "orgasmic", )
