FORT MYERS BEACH -- A naked man was accidentally shocked in the genitals by a Taser after he was found breaking windows and asking women to touch him inappropriately, police said.

Jeremy J. Miljour, 26, of Bonita Springs, attempted to run when approached by Lee County sheriff's deputies Saturday. When he ignored requested to stop, Deputy Daniel Hollywood shot Miljour with a Taser.

One of the Taser prongs accidentally hit Miljour's genitals and got stuck, said Cpl. Matt Chitwood. Miljour was taken to Lee Memorial HealthPark Medical Center, where he was treated before being taken to the Lee County jail.

Officers are taught to aim for the torso, but it was difficult for officers to aim because Miljour was moving, Chitwood said.

I know law enforcement is often wrong in their use of tasers , but in some ways, something seems oddly appropros about what happened to this pervert.

The one reform I'd like to see is a Taser firing treated the same as the discharge of a deadly weapon, with an investigation by IA to see if it were justified. Too many cowboy cops are using those things as entertainment, and too many creeps whose crimes should have resulted in fines or short sentences have been executed by them.

Tasers can save lives, but they're deadly force when used improperly.

As for this guy, stuff like this almost makes me believe in divine intervention. .....nah

9. Good Point About Tasers

I think too many people on the side of law enforcement take the attitude that since they are not lethal, they can be used at will. Tasers can be deadly, although not as deadly as a firearm. They are an excellent alternative, but should be used with caution - although I don't know that an investigation into each use is necessary. I think we should start doing it from a departmental standpoint, if out of so many confrontations or a specified period of time a taser is used more than a certain number of times, the whole department should be investigated to make sure they are properly training their officers. I know my numbers are vague, but I think there are people better qualified to set the parameters.

After tasers have been in used for a while, then we can start investigating individual officers. Right now, I don't trust the training they are given sufficiently to put an officer through that.
