My 1000th post, here in the DU Lounge

I'm about to lose my virginity (again) and become a member of the DU 1000+ poster community. 

I was a longtime lurker.  I love DU. It's so odd. And as a registered, card-carrying DUmmunist, I've decided I'd prefer to gift the DU Lounge with my 1000th post.  DU Lounge Lizards seem friendly, weird, sharp, witty - and much more likely to fail a breathalyzer after midnight. (bonus)
 
I'll be graduating now to GD and Politics forums with a thick skinned, macho post count; instantly recognizable to the 1000+ Clubbers as a heavyweight intellictu...intalleck...intellek...uh, deep thinker.

12. All I can say about GD is that when I've ranted there,

they have either been kind or ignored me. I read but rarely post there. Stand up straight and tell the truth, and let the chips fall where they may. I have noticed that some of the worst jackasses in GD end up posting an "I'm leaving" thread in the lounge. Usually a lot of "oh well, see ya" responses.

Understand please, they keep track of justice, good values, and our integrity. The Lounge is the heart of DU. We goof on GD all the time but never lose sight of the fact that they are carrying the torch.

25. Last weekend I saw an old episode of Mad TV

It had a hilarious parody of his Faux News show. They had "him" interviewing himself and babbling about how fabulous he was, while the ticker at the bottom spewed stuff about how wonderful he was. I was laughing the whole time.
