Serious question about the Packers...
Are there any teams in the NFL that are currently WORSE?

1. Houston is worse...
they're 1-10.

San Fran, Green Bay, and the Jets all have 2-9 records.

So yes, there is one team worse than the Packers.

23. Yeah right.
"Hey, let's name a football team after a bunch of murderous barbarians!" :-)

Nowadays, they still are barbarians, but they aren't murderous, they just pile up enough booze to float the Queen Mary, get a whole bunch of hookers and dump the entire mess into a boat along with a dozen of themselves. :D

2. No, but I still think the Slackers will give my Bears a run
for the money next Sunday in Soldier Field.

There's just something about the Bears v. Packers.

7. Green Bay isn't that bad.
(coming from an Eagles fan, obviously)

I think they have lost 6 or 7 of their games by a total of something like 15 points. They also usually lead for some or most of the game, but are just ending up on the wrong side of the game when the clock runs out.

That being said, I don't have the slightest clue why Favre keeps throwing so many damn interceptions.

8. He's trying to do too much.
Usually because he has to, with no offensive line, no receivers, and no running backs left.

10. Gunslinger
Edited on Tue Nov-29-05 09:36 AM by underpants
Favre is not so much a "throw back" (sorry for the pun) to the old days but what used to be the standard of making it to the pros. Taking chances, now adays we have lots of Kyles and Codys and so forth who have been groomed since the age of 12 to be by the numbers progression QBs-some of them are risk takers but mostly it is boring dump it and punt DON'T LOSE THE BALLGAME type stuff.

Favre is a gunslinger and once he won a SB he had free run to do whatever he wanted (see the stained glass Favre window someone posted here a few weeks ago). The problem is that risk takers and gunslingers stick around just one too many too long and start thinking they have the talent to overcome physics and natural laws. Favre seems to be there. He is making throws just to see if he can do it and quite often the answer is NO. He knows he is playing with house money* anyway.

*-No one is going to run him out of GB and he plays for a team of 4 years ago so anything he can actually do is just a plus. They are a one man team at this point.

12. We're just doing a Darwinian shift of the fans....
to determine who's really true green and gold.

I've always loved my boys. Even with Ray Rhodes or Forrest Gregg at the helm.

Brett's ALWAYS thrown lots of interceptions. And he's still fun to watch. :loveya:

My father, after 60 years still lives and dies with them. He's threatening to go to stockholder's meetings now. ;) We bought him some stock last time around. :)

13. Houston led the Rams 24-3. The Rams had a 3rd string QB in the game.
Houston lost.

They have one victory. One.

They suck. GM, coach, front office, coaching staff ALL need to get canned, but I really don't care. The REAL Houston football team plays in Tennessee thanks to greedy asshole Bud Adams.

14. Actually they're the best 2-9 team in football.
Edited on Tue Nov-29-05 11:02 AM by WeRQ4U
They compete in every game, but just find a way to lose a lot of them.

I think San Fran, Houston, New Orleans, and New York (jets) are all much worse.

As for Brett Favre, he's doing exactly what he's done his whole career, take chances. This year, he just doesn't have the company to do it. It's not him. He's in great physical shape. And he call still wing the ball. He's ALWAYS made bad decisions with the football, and he's thrown a TON of interceptions. But the difference this year, as opposed to other years, is that he's not mixing in any spectacular plays with the bad.

You have to remember what happened to the pack this year. No Javon Walker, No Ahman Green, No Najeh Davenport, No Mike Wahle, No Darren Sharper....etc. They lost a TON of people.

Calling for Aaron Rodgers to replace him is also ridiculous in my mind. The kid hasn't shown ANYTHING that would show he's ready to do any better.

And, mind you, I'm a VIkings fan. I've been raised to hate the Pack. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying every single nationally televised loss.

15. The Packers just seem to be on a path to totally dismantling the team.
Edited on Tue Nov-29-05 11:06 AM by bushwentawol
Favre's supporting cast is wearing thin. I know they show closeups of him on TV to see the expression on his face 'cause few have as big a heart for the game as #4. That and there's always the speculation that he'll hang it up. I'm damn glad he's got that one Super Bowl ring cause it don't look like he's getting anywhere close to getting another one. I can't see him dragging himself through a rebuilding phase the Pack seems to think they need to go through.

21. He played this year because his wife asked him to. She said it was
selfish of her to want, but that (after missing so many games due to cancer last year) she wanted another year of going and having the excitement.

that and he's still got "it" :hi:

19. Hey the Packers have won many a fantasy game for me. Remember
they have outscored all of their opponents combined. 12 major injuries. I'm amazed they're keeping the games close. 19th rated offense puts them somewhere in the middle. Never give up, the Lions are much MUCH worse. :hi:

and I would still be worried about them beating the Bears....
