2. Sweet.
I've been a bit skeptical on Beast, but that pic looks way cool.

Angel? I dunno. Gonna need to see that one in action.

Every time I think this movie might be good, I'm reminded that Brett Ratner is directing. Then, I get a little sad.

Where's Kire? I bet he'd want to check these out.

3. Ratner is overly bashed
his worst movie was "After the Sunset". I don't think any of his other movies were "bad movies", just not X2 good.

5. Red Dragon was alright...
The rest of his work seems mediocre at best to me.

33. I'm not sure the director of the Rush Hour movies can be overly bashed.
And I'm not keen on giving the guy the keys to this franchise.

I'll try and go in with an open mind however.

15. Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything...
But that pic reminded me of Willem Defoe's Green Goblin mask in "Spider-Man." And that's not a good thing.

25. I know! Sideshow Beast is going to suck.
I just can't see Kelsey Grammer as anything but pompous and pretentious. That's not Beast, dammit!

12. The fact the article says a 4th movie is unlikely...
makes me worry about how well directed X3 will be.

:(

And why did the X1/X2 director move on to Superman anyway? Superman had his day in 1980 and nobody's going to buy the "truth, justice, and American way" stuff anymore. Innocence lost.

18. That's not quite what it said...
It said that Hugh Jackman wasn't likely to be in a fourth movie. At least that was how I read it.

30. I dont' believe that Bryan Singer....
well do that in the new Superman Returns movie, due out june 30th of 2006. I didn't think Singer would have a chance in hell of doing a good xmen movie(s) but he proved me wrong big time....I do believe he is going to put some new twists and make superman darker in this movie...but thats just my hunch...:)

16. How about not impressed?
That's not the Beast I know. They already wrongly cast Hugh Jackman (whom I adore) as Wolverine.

I guess next they fuck up Gambit. I hate these movies! I'll stick with my old comix.

Man, there is just no pleasing some people. These movies are great. My husband is a HUGE X-Men comics fan, and he loves these movies and LOVES Hugh Jackman. In a manly way.

22. Sorry, it's just a matter of different tastes.
I'm glad your husband loved the movies. I just didn't. No fault on either side. Different tastes, right? I love Hugh Jackman, he just didn't feel like Wolverine to me. Although he gave it a damn good try.

28. I agree about Wolverine being miscast
it's the most overrated casting in geek movie history. But also Patrick Stewart as Professor X might be as well.

Wolvy was a foot shorter (a 5' 8" or so actor would have worked the best though) and far less pleasant, both aesthetically and personality wise.

And Professor X should have been American. And Magneto shouldn't have been British either. It's so cliche to have the wise older men be played by Englishmen.

23. Ooops, I'm gonna make you mad at me again.
I love Nightcrawler with a passion, but.....

OK, I'm a purist. No movie can ever do the comix justice IMHO. There, I said it, and I mean it. I found the movies dull and boring. But that's only my opinion, your mileage may vary.

26. They need to leave out some characters to make way for new ones
considering he actually never joined the team, he's the first candidate to consider having take a break, or if this is the last movie, say goodbye. In the last movie he was even the only mutant in the Oval Office who wasn't wearing a black leather X-Men uniform.

Also, if you have 2 kindly fanged Blue acrobats in the same movie you run the risk of confusing the casual viewer even more.

were going to go with Archangel after Apocalypse got to him.
