2. Gather 'round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun...
Gather 'round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun,
A man whose allegiance
Is ruled by expedience.
Call him a Nazi, he won't even frown,
"Ha, Nazi, Schmazi," says Wernher von Braun.

Don't say that he's hypocritical,
Say rather that he's apolitical.
"Vonce zee rockets are up, who cares vere zey come down?
Zat's not my department," says Wernher von Braun.

Some have harsh words for this man of renown,
But some think our attitude
Should be one of gratitude,
Like the widows and cripples in old London town,
Who owe their large pensions to Wernher von Braun.

You too may be a big hero,
Once you've learned to count backwards to zero.
"In German or English I know how to count down,
Und I'm learning Chinese!" says Wernher von Braun.

3. I remember being a little kid during the space race...
and having Von Braun pushed on me as if he were some kind of combination of Albert Einstein and Professor Ludwig Von Drake. I was shocked when I found out a few years later that he was Nazi scum.

4. Disney had shows on the space race and he was
an advisor and commentator on the shows. He had a strong accent like Lawrence Welk. Boy, good old Disney!!

5. Ah yes. Spoils of war. He, of course, being one of them....
....it was never about space. It was about how to plant a missile on another country. That's what he brought to the table....
