Where are you spending New Year's Eve?
I'll be in Hanoi (whoooopee!) with my partner and his parents.

Where will you be and what're you planning?

3. I'll be here... in-laws visiting
and not the ones I'm particularly fond of, either. :) Oh well. We are going to (hopefully) cook a big dinner for them... although we are pretty sure they will insist on taking us out, and paying for us, even though we have a larger income. Will make the best of it. Probably light some fireworks which will be fun! And start drinking once they've left, even better! Lol.

Have fun!! :hi:

39. I spent a New Year's Eve being very pregnant, four years ago.
My son was born on January 6, 2002.

Congratulations, and when is the baby due?

In the greater Pittsburgh area. With the woman I love, the mother of our virtual pet, the baby panda. Can't wait.

32. Star of India.
On North Craig Street in Oakland. I suspect you know it. We've tried some of the others and they've all paled in comparison although I really like the former Sitar of India, I don't know what it's now called on Bryant Street in Highland Park. They have a wonderful buffet every weekday until 3:00 for $6.95 or something like that. Namaste.

33. I am not a fan of SOI - I think their service is pretty bad JMO
I prefer the place that used to be Darbar near Centre and Craig, and Taj Mahal in the North Hills. We haven't tried the one in Highland Park or the one on Penn near the old St. Francis yet, though.

41. I guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
We've been going to SOI for many years and have always had good service there. Among other things, I like their raita best of anyplace I've been in town. I used to be a regular at Darbar and the place that replaced it. India Garden? My wife and I had a bad experience once and I think we found the place beneath our standards of cleanliness. I hope that's changed. I used to go to the one on Penn near St. Francis a lot and always liked their stuff. I remember the people there as being very nice, as well. I hope that's continued. :toast:

That's impressive. I've avoided the big gaggles like the plague. Concord, NH was a bit too much party for me! Staying in sounds lovely. Do they still show marathons of the 3 stooges?

14. Hello!
I don't post too much, but I've been around for some time. Am at work these holidays and wholly unmotivated to do much of anything. We leave tonight for New Years and I am chomping at the bit.

Staying in with the pup doesn't sound too shabby. Nor does a 59th birthday -- happy day to you!

28. I told my husband I'd watch the baby and he can do whatever he wants.
If he wants to book a show, go out with his friends, whatever. I'm not up to making plans or spending money.

I usually like to do something for New Year's Eve that sets the tone for the year, so really I think I'd like nothing more than to be with my son.

I think my husband may end up staying home with us, which would be great, but whatever he wants is fine.

There's also been some talk of going to his parents' house. That would be okay too.

I am again successfully avoiding Times Square.

:)
