Could Use Some Good Thoughts, Prayers, Whatever
I posted this in the progressive people of faith group;

Had my first mammogram yesterday. They called me today, and want me to come back for a more detailed picture, and maybe an ultrasound if needed. I asked what the problem was, and asked how concerend they were. She said it looked like it could be a cyst, and that it wasn't an emergency. There is no history of breast cancer in our family, and I have never smoked, so I'm hoping for the best. I go back Thuesday morning (1-3-06)
Hoping and praying for the best. You guys always help me feel better.

8. Best wishes, hope it's nothing. Lately I've heard of a lot of women
being called back. Someone suggested it's the lab generating addtional revenue from Ins. Co. Out of so many mammograms they do, a cerain % are called back. I have one done every year. Last year, no call back, year before call back, year before that, no call back. All from the same lab/mammo center, so they had previous films to compare.

Hopefully that's all this is, keep us posted.

If it's any help, I once had a cyst. Of course, it was during a time in my life when I was extremely depressed and praying for my own death, so I wasn't so concerned about it. I can imagine going through it now and actually being worried about it.

One word of hope for ya: If they think it's only a cyst, that is a good sign. It means that whatever it is, it hasn't spread in such a way that you haven't caught it in time.

Peace.

24. Hi Dinger-- it may help you to know
that as this is your first mammogram, they don't have anything to compare it to. In those instances, they sometimes call you back to take another look, just to be sure--but in such cases it is usually nothing.

I say this because this is what my mammo tech told me, after my first mammogram a few months ago. She wanted me to know this, as she sees it happen a lot after first time mammograms. She knows many women get upset hearing they need to come back and she said usually it's nothing--just them needing something to compare the film to, to be sure it's nothing.

Hope this makes sense. In the meantime, I will hold good thoughts for you!
Please let us know how it goes!

25. Good luck to you, probably nothing but a cyst.
I had this happen also, got ultrasounded and they still couldn't tell for sure. "We think it's a cyst but we'd like to do a needle biopsy to make sure". Oh joy, shove some needles into my nipples. They couldn't numb it up first because that would've involved shoving needles into my nipples to inject the anesthetic. I lived through it, though gave my doctor really dirty looks. It was a cyst, as are most of these things. Especially not having family history, you will probably be ok, but I know it can be very worrying waiting. Hang in there and report back when you find out what it is.

26. I've had some luck with this.
I use this for clearing and healing and have had some significant success as have some people I've passed it along to.

See yourself in the center of a perfectly formed, comfortably large circle. Fill it with gentle, golden flame, moving through you and all around you. Through you ... and all around you. Breathe normally. If the image moves or changes, just go with it. Breathe that in and out for awhile. Any movement you get is a sign that you're processing what you're holding. Duration brings benefits as does frequency. A minute or so is all you need to do at any one time to get great benefits unless, of course, you want to do more.

After some passes with golden flame, substitute purple flame which is very soothing.

Also, if there's things you need to get off your chest, maybe this would be a good time.

29. It could be nothing....
How good is your mammography center?

Got a call after my first mammogram that scared the bejesus out of me. Turns out I have fibrocystic breasts which are hard to image. My hospital subsequently built a state of the art breast cancer center with the latest equipment, so I never get those calls anymore.

Anyhow, just trying to ease your state of mind. My prayers and best wishes to you.

33. You'll be fine.
If it looked like something more serious, they'd have you in there now. Remember, most breast lumps are benign. Stop eating dairy, make miso soup and drink green tea.

Oh, and duck (and I don't say that lightly) coz there's positive vibes coming your way.
