I just talked to RBYNC on the phone
She wants me to tell you all that her mother has been printing up and taking to her all the kind words you've been posting for her.

The wedding is still on for today, so that's some good news. :-)

A little more about the accident:

she was trapped in the car for over 20 minutes (she was unconscious from the point of the accident) and they had to cut her out of the car. She said that there was only a few inches left of her side of the car, the rest having been smashed in.

She might have to go from the Hospital to rehabilitation. Right now she can't do much on her own.

She send us her love and I sent ours back to her.

I'm a little choked up, so I hope I remembered it all.

It will be wedding that no one will ever forget, that much is certain. :-)

Glad to hear she's capable of speach, and the wedding will go on.

6. Honeymoon in Rehab...
Gads! This is the first I've seen about all this. Just goes to show that any time lost from DU is INDEED something missed. I spotted this thread and then had to go read the other to get up to speed. Holy Cow, this is one wedding that nobody will forget any time soon...

Good to hear that she and the baby are ok and that the BIL is ok too. I'll send good thoughts their way, and I'll also offer a reminder to us all that bad things can happen to people we love, and it is important to TELL them they are loved--while you can.

Pax to you all and may your paths be brighter soon!

Laura

11. I think she was just trying to figure a way
out of wearing the crappy wedding dress she hated.
But this IS a bit extreme.
Will she be wed in one of those cute little hospital gowns with her behind hanging out?

ALL THE BEST RBNYC!

Remember, bad beginnings make for good endings.

15. Oh, dear!
Obviously we city girls don't belong in cars. Fortunately, the wedding will still have the most important elements; the bride, the groom, their families and love. :loveya:

18. HUGS to RBNYC .....
Edited on Sat Jul-26-03 08:09 PM by tjdee
I too missed all of this, it must have been the most anxious (at the very least) time for her and her family. I can't imagine having to be cut out of a car.

Glad to hear the wedding's still on, very glad to hear the baby's okay...

Hoping for a speedy recovery and a quick return to 'normal'.

:-)
