I watched the House series premiere, which was excellent, but I can't handle Laurie in a non-comedic role.

15. I liked it at first, but its starting to be a bit repetetive.

Plotline for a House episode.

1. House makes smartass sexist remark to his boss
2. House makes a smartass remark to a patient.
3. House makes a racist remark to his black assistant.
4. House makes a brilliant discovery about whats wrong with the patient.
5. House makes a smartass sexist remark to his female assistant.
6. House discovers that he was dead wrong and nearly kills patient.
7. House makes sexist remark to his ex girlfriend.
8. House proposes a radical solution that would kill 99% of patients and have his license revoked.
9. House makes comment suggesting that the Aussie is gay.
10. House saves the day, the patient is saved, and his ethical and legal violations are once again ignored.
11. House takes his drugs and rides his motorcycle off into the sunset.

Ok, Ok, so they dress it up a little, but you can NOT tell me that every single House episode doesn't contain at least FOUR of those elements. It's an interesting show with great actors, but there's only so many "Doctor saves stricken patient" shows you can do without turning it into a soap opera.

I do have to admit that I didn't see the meth-sex thing coming though. She's already an emotional nutcase, and I can't help but wonder if they'll turn her into an addict too. Wouldn't that be a great plotline? The drug addicted doctor trying to save his drug addicted assistant from herself while they both try to ignore the fact that they once liked each other romantically and refused to act on it?
