Just Looked at my Gas Bill
and then turned the thermostat down to 60. I will wear thermals.

A friend of mine runs a laudromat and his bill for this same time last year was $600. This year it was $1200.

Sorry, I still think this is all a huge hoax. The oil and gas companies are on a roll and have every intention of milking this to death - our death from complications due to illness.

And gasoline just jumped way up again. Had gotten down to $1.97 and this morning is back up to $2.26.

1. The economy is a joke.
And all those tax cuts did not stimulate the economy at all, but did put us further in debt. I had a thread get buried in GD about it here.

2. Drop the gas prices at the pump and jack them up in the home.
I noticed the gas prices at the pump creeping back up, too.

7. Yes! I noticed that yesterday when I had to get gas.
And I had oil delivered on Thursday. Ouch! It has been cold again lately too (I'm in the Mid-coast area) Not as bad as last year, but I hear our furnace kick on a lot. I have three very young children. I can't turn the heat down too low :-(

6. $38.75 gas heat bill last month
I just moved into a 1 bedroom apt in a new building that is luckily, I guess, energy efficient. I just moved back north from Florida so my heat has been set at 75 until I stop wimping out from the chill I feel if it gets to 72.

9. If it is any consolation to those who have high heating bills,

I was listening to a local radio station this morning. A representative from Atlanta Gas Light said that the natural gas prices peaked in December and should be decreasing in the coming months.

11. Mine was $450
for one month, And I live in CA where it doesn't get that cold. And it was before the rate increase that went into effect Jan 2. I'm really afraid of what the next one will look like. I've started drying clothes over the stair railing.

It's ridiculous. Someone is making a whole lot of money here.
