Car Chases
Can anyone tell me what the allure of car chases is for the news media? All the local channels where I am at are now covering a car chase. Each and every time there is a car chase the local new breaks into just about what ever show is on and then stick with the car chase until it is over. I just do not see the reason to show car chases on the TV. What is the point?

1. People like the loud noises, bright lights, and chance for mayhem
Same reason some people like to watch auto racing, just to see someone wreck.

It's voyeuristic AND rubbernecky!
