7. Probably the Braves
They were the only MLB team for an entire region of the country for a very long time. A lot of people far away from Atlanta are fans, plus the number of their games aired on TV give them a huge fan base.

10. Boston Red Sox fans win for patience, that's for sure.
Not sure about their wide appeal, but those fans suffered for decades yet stuck by their team.

Steeler fans are loyal but I think Boston has us beat.

11. When you said "most loyal" you ruled out two of the top contenders:
The NY Yankees and Manchester United F.C. A lot of Yanks "fans" are either jackass bandwagon riders or people who fancy themeselves badass NYers, or people in foreign countries who see the NY logo as a symbol of American cosmopolitanism. This is not to detract from you real Yankees fans out there, but even you must know this. It's the same for Manchester United. I go to the University of Toronto, and if I had a loonie for every Canadian, Indian or Pakistani with a ManU shirt or scarf who didn't know squat about the team I'd have a lot of money. I mean, if you're a ManU fan and don't know who Glazer is or why he's controversial, then you're not really a ManU fan (which I'm not, BTW, not a huge fan of soccer. I guess if I had to pick I'd go with Arsenal because I like the cannon on their logo).

For these reasons, I voted for my team, the Red Sox. I mean, you gotta really love a team to stick with 'em after 86 years of frustration and disappointment. We had our share of bandwagon riders, but now they're probably with the other Sox, so I guess in one way we're lucky about last season that the bandwagon thing didn't run out of control.

14. I agree with you MrsG
There are Packer fans EVERYWHERE!

Funny story. When we went to SoCal last November to visit my inlaws, my husband discovered that a pizzeria nearby his parents' house is where the SoCal Minnesota Vikings fan club meets. I got to watch the Monday Night Football game with a bunch of other Vikings fans!

Good times, good times.

21. Wow. I'm stunned by the reponses to this thread.
Manchester United probably would have a bigger fan base worldwide than all of those other teams combined. In fact, I'd be a little surprised if the top 5-supported sports teams in the world weren't all soccer teams.
