didn't Denny's used to sell pies?
I could have sworn. They were called Mother's Pies or something like that.

Anyway, my husband had a craving for coconut cream pie, and, since he recently had really major surgery, I still pretty much try to get him whatever he wants. I went into Denny's certain that I could get one, but the woman at the counter looked confused and said they only had peanut butter and apple.

I ended up getting a frozen one at the grocery store and trying to microwave a slice. It wasn't awful, but really needed to thaw.

So, where can you buy a coconut cream pie at 10:00 pm?

1. I used to remember the name of another chain place,
open 24 hours, on International Drive, at the corner of Sand Lake (?)...cannot think of it, but they have many pies.

4. True,
but I have not seen one outside of Washington. I ate at the one by Mt. Vernon, was not too bad.

9. I don't know
I live really far from I-drive (I could probably make a pie by the time I got out there and back), but if it's good I'll have to look it up. Thanks!

13. The Denny's up the street has a pie case...
Right under the register. I'm not sure about coconut cream 'cause I try to ignore them but whole pies for sale.

My best to your husband and try calling other Denny's. After a while they'll be all that's open.

14. Denny's did (does?) sell pies.
And coconut cream was one on the list. I did 5 years @ a Denny's in MI - finally being granted parole.

NO ONE could possibly understand the horror stories involved in waitressing at a Denny's unless they've lived it themselves! :silly:

Sorry about your pie.
