Hot damn . . . a possibility of Sly Stone appearing at the Grammys

(CNN) -- According to a press release from the Grammy Awards, there's going to be a special tribute to Sly and the Family Stone at the February 8 awards.

But according to a report in Friday's Washington Post, the tribute may include the reclusive Sly Stone himself, along with the original band members.

Ron Roecker, a spokesman for the Recording Academy -- the organization that oversees the Grammys -- wouldn't confirm for the Post that the reunion is on the Grammy-night schedule. "The facts are what we put in the press release," Roecker said. "As far as anything else, it's all just rumor. But we do believe that he is attending the Grammy Awards."

He added: "It seems like the right time for him. We're thrilled that we'll be able to do this."

. . . .

Damn, that could be freakin' SWEET! It might actually make them worth tuning in for.

3. Sometimes I'm right but I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the banker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a blue one who can't accept the green one
For living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo

Oh sha sha - we got to live together

I am no better and neither are you
We are the same whatever we do
You love me you hate me you know me and then
You can't figure out the bag l'm in
I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a long hair that doesn't like the short hair
For bein' such a rich one that will not help the poor one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo

Oh sha sha-we got to live together
There is a yellow one that won't accept the black one
That won't accept the red one that won't accept the white one
And different strokes for different folks

4. That is definitely my favorite Sly song!
Have you ever seen them perform?

I had a chance to, back in Pgh. in '70, but the friend who was driving got in an accident before he picked me up. We didn't go .

10. Without Beyonce or Kanye West, please God!
:scared:

Or Alicia Keys.... but of the three I can tolerate her best, so if that's what I have to have, okay then.

I LOVE old Sly and the Family Stone stuff.
