Sometimes we're forced to be the bigger person. It's a shame but sometimes that's just the way it goes.

That's not the case now, but when I was growing up, I had a lot of responsibilities. My mom was okay, but dad was an alcoholic and, well, that doesn't make for a real responsible person. I was the oldest of 5 kids, so a lot of stuff fell on me -- even more than a lot of oldest children get.
