What should a 14'x12' deck cost me to have built?

Specifics: It'll be tied to an existing deck, will be supported by 2 posts in concrete on one end and be tied into the house on the other and has a 7 1/2' x 7 1/2' hot tub in the middle of it (don't need decking for the hot tub part because the tub's recessed into the deck.

Ballpark estimates?

1. You need to include the framing for the hot tub unless you're planning on

just cutting a hole in the deck when you're ready? Is it like a drop in type? Regardless, you have to plan for the joists to be supported in some manner or else it's going to sag.

And in that case, there will be a good deal of extra work for the joists to be framed around the tub aperture.

Clarify if you're supplying the materials.

Are you running the electric to the hot tub, or is that already done?

You should put in one more support for a span of that length, for safety and weight/load bearing reasons.

I'd figure about $1500 including materials, assuming you're using redwood.

The tub is already in...on a pad on the ground...wired and everything. The deck is being built around it.

I'm looking for a price including labor and materials (treated pine, not redwood).

Wouldn't 2x8s on end provide enough support for a 14' run (it doesn't have to support the 5000# tub, just the weight of a few people)?

The tub is about 4' high and sits on the ground. The deck will be about 3 feet off of the ground and will be built around the tub. No need to support the tub and no need to put decking on the area the tub occupies. Oh, and I'm in Ohio.
