This site uses local info and satelite pictures to value any house at any address that belongs to anyone, anywhere. Its free and its a gas. Try it. snoop. etc.

1. This is my favorite site!
It's great fun looking up houses I've lived in, houses that friends live in, neighbor's houses, out-of-state houses relatives live in...

3. $513,352
I sold it in 2000 for $150,000. :grr:

$493,313 — I bought it in 1998 for $199,500 and sold it in early 2004 for $330,000. And that's a low estimate. If I were selling it now, I'd ask $550,000 — and get it.

The house I grew up in, built for $8,500 in 1950, is now worth $516,474.

5. Bought this place in 1966 with (now ex) husband for $14,500.
I could sell it now for $500,000+ but I don't want to move.

7. The site contains some major errors...
from what I have heard such as wrong addresses to homes, wrong tax information, wrong information on the sale price of surrounding homes in a neighborhood and a few other I can't remember. Plus, my town isn't listed.

8. Well, having tried to find the home I grew up in, I can tell you that it
doesn't have all the streets right. It came up about 4 or 5 blocks away and in a different part of town.

9. It's a beta site.
There are only a handful are metro areas where they have a fully operational model. In many others it's based on one or two public databases and very wiggy in the calculations. Some states don't exist at all, and I suspect that most newer suburbs and rural areas don't have any meaningful data.

FWIW, the SF Bay area is one metro where they claim to have full input for the model and the houses on my street have relatively accurate estimates except those that have sold in the past year.

Has ours as 3BR, 3Bath ... we have 4 bedrooms. We have a pool, and they valued a neighbor's identical house on a smaller lot w/out a pool for $5,000 more than ours.

Edit: typo
