Anyone ever ride a Zamboni?

In college, I dated a guy who worked at the ice rink, and the last thing he did before he locked up at night was clean the ice. I'd come back from the bars and meet him at the rink, and ride around on the Zamboni with him to kill time before he got off work. He even had a bumper sticker that said "my other car is a Zamboni"

I imagine it's a lot less fun when you're sober....

....would like to own m'own ice skatin' rink and Zamboni...but alas it's not to be. x(

2. My brother used to manage an ice rink

We got to use the rink to play hockey after it officially closed, as long as we cleaned the ice afterward with the Zamboni. A few of us knew how to half-ass run it - he of course used to do it all the time.

Imagine our surprise one night to see one of the "'regulars", nicknamed "Iron Man", trying to take the Zamboni outside and resurface the parking lot!

He actually got it outside, and was trying to work the water jets when we pulled him off.

I have no idea if that area of the parking lot froze over. :)
