7. Miller was pretty funny while he was on SNL
It was all downhill after that.

Hey, whatever happened to A. Whitney Brown?

14. I agree with you about Miller
Granted, he only did Weekend Update, but he was pretty funny. One of the best "Weekend Update" hosts.

But then he crawled into George W. Bush's asshole and took up residence. And then he becamse loathsome.

3. Abstain; Colin Quinn and Victoria Jackson split my vote.
I honestly can't come up with a "winner" on this one.

5. Chris Farley
Aggressively unfunny. Anti-funny. The wit and wisdom of a turd in a punchbowl.

I'm mystified as to why Jimmy Fallon gets dissed. Granted sketch comedy is not his long suit, but his Weekend Update stuff was nearly of Jon Stewart caliber-- Tina Fay didn't have to carry him.

6. Yeah I would not include some on that list...
Jimmy Fallon, Hoartio Sanz, and Tracy Morgan are all good....

I guess I would vote for Colin Quinn...

8. Fallon & Sans have to stop...
...laughing at their own jokes. It's just not good if the comedians are cracking themselves up more than the audience. And I saw Tracy Morgan live last year, and it was god-awful. The entire show--no exaggeration, about an hour or so--was about jacking off to internet porn. I don't know, I guess it's all he's been doing lately, but it got old really, really fast.

10. Well I haven't seen Tracy Morgan...
Other than on SNL...where I thought he was funny...

SOmetimes it is funny when they crack up at their own bits...but it can go too far

11. I agree, it's funny when
comedians lose it in the middle of a sketch--and it's genuine--but if they do it every time, it just seems kind of stupid.

15. In the first "Debbie Downer" skit, where they were all supposed to be
depressed by everything Debbie says, was a laugh riot, because they couldn't keep a straight face. They were all trying to not laugh but each time Debbie said something awful, they all cracked up again. It was roll-on-the-floor funny because of that, one of the great moments of SNL. Every "Debbie Downer" skit since then has been dull by comparison, because they are all able to stay in character and not laugh.

But Charles Rocket really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really sucked!

12. Joe Piscopo
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 10:40 AM by terrya
He had one character...his gushy, fawning tribute to Sinatra. And...that's it. His apparent complete lack of any kind of humor was interesting in a comedy show.

17. Invalid Poll
Adam Sandler wasn't in there. Horatio Sans is better than him. What the fuck?

Opera Man! Something Man! It would've been much funnier to see this fucker get dragged outside and thrown into to the gutter by security.

20. True, but that's why I put a disclaimer on it...
Those wouldn't have been my ten choices. The purpose of the poll was to get a reaction to the Web Site's ten choices, and I agree...a few of the choices are bogus. Colin Quinn belongs on there, yes...Julia Sweeney, HELL yes...but I've always thought that Horatio has had some funny moments. Also, the woman who did "Jan Brady"...forgot her name and I'm too lazy to look it up...she was a MASTER at the "Cinnamon Girl Solo"...ONE NOTE, over and over and over and over again.

19. I don't remember Colin Quinn every doing/saying anything funny. EVER.
But then again, the Billy Crystal era of SNL is probably the last time I ever watched with any regularity.

I will full concede that as much of a loathsome toady as Dennis Miller is now, he used to be funny, with his very limited, "I'm smarter than you" shtick. But that's all over.

32. If Colin could understand the concepts of "timing and delivery" he might
have a shot at being halfway-decent, but apparently that's too much to ask. Oh, and not being an uninformed sack of rocks might be helpful to his career as a "smart-ass critic of pop-culture" comic as well.

Loved you on Remote Control though, Colin.

25. Totally invalid poll.
There must be 30 worse SNL people than are listed. Where are the current castmembers, other than Fallon? Jeez, this show sucks so bad now.

Plus, on principle, Dennis Miller has to be a choice. What a sellout scumbag.

36. There's just so many ...

That whole season with Robert Downy Jr, et al just needs to be stripped from the historical record. I didn't even know what I was watching.

Of those on your list, I always loathed Victoria Jackson. I could stand hearing her voice. Her characters weren't funny; they were obnoxious. But, I'd have to go with Colin Quinn as worst of all time. Even the bad cast members always had this look about him when he was in a skit that seemed to ask, "Who the fuck let this guy in here?"

I blame MTV for him. I'd never heard of the idiot before he showed up in the early days of MTV's non-musical original programming on _Remote Control_, and then suddenly he was everywhere. Kari was the only good thing that came out of that mess.
