I've seen an upsurge in ask-me-anything threads, so I thought I'd start one myself :P.

1. What actions will you take

to insure that Bush is not elected to the Presidency (not re-elected, since he wasn't elected the first time)?

5. Hmmm...

...like most of DU, I'm going to vote for the Democratic candidate (unless he is a complete Republicrat), and if possible, I'll try to register to vote in a competitive state like Ohio or New Hampshire (NH is one of the states that benefit the most from the Electoral College, because it's both very small and very competitive - Delaware's competitive too, but no one cares about it), rather than California, because either California is safely Democratic or the election is safely Republican.

I'm still in the armchair activist stage of my life, but I have no intentions of voting for the wingnuts' laws. If they outlaw porn, my PG/PG-13 political site will become NC-17. If they outlaw flag burning, I'll buy an aerosol can and a lighter just for the occasion.

Oh, and as far as it matters, I'm in the very early stage of political writing, both fiction and nonfiction.

And have you been to any democratic rallies?

6. Kinda, and no

I'm the only person I know IRL who's a DUer or a Bartcopper or a Freeper or an l-dotter or a member of any political campaign. However, almost everyone I know has a very strong political opinion, usually left-wing (one of my friends is a radical Green, another is close to anarchist and believes that the Matrix may well exist, yet another is a Bush-hater who agrees with Dean on practically everything but guns, and a fourth is just plain anti-American).

And no, I've never been to any Democratic or other rallies - not even the 2/15 protests. Protesting doesn't exactly help prevent wars, and I prefer forming my opinions by reading articles to hearing speeches and attending rallies, where people are much less critical and rational.
