What colour should my new sofa be?
I need a new sofa for my new place!! :bounce:

I'm thinking red or a nice shade of green?

Any suggestions, I like colour but nothing too bright.

1. I'm partial to green, myself.
all of our living room furniture is a hunter green. Goes great with all of our houseplants....

:hi: Have fun making your new place a HOME.

2. Put on clean white socks.....
and walk around your property for a bit, then match sofa to socks. Just a practical idea, plus you can use throw pillows for accent colour.

12. that's brilliant! when I built the house with the 2nd ex
the salesmen at the tile store and the carpet store and the cabinet place and the furniture store and the paint store all thought I was nuts when I showed up with two baggies full of dirt and asked for a cup of water.

I used the dry dirt and the mud to choose all the color tones and when the house was done, you never could see the dust

it really does work.......

9. it's a relief to get it......
needed a guarantor on the lease. :eyes: I guess 17 years as a renter, a good income at a pretty secure job wasn't enough (my credit though wasn't at it's best (long story) but they placed more weight on that than I thought.

Anyhoooooooo, now that that hurdle is over, I can think about the move and what I need to do. :)

I need a bedroom set, plus a dinette set as well. Plus new drapes, etc. :)

One thing at a time. :)

31. Good choice
Medium or dark sage green is very current. Surprisingly, it is more neutral than you may think at first. I don't think red is a good choice. Re may be a good accent color but not for a main item like a sofa.

14. I'd go with red...
The sofa fabric I'm currently in love with is this:

It comes from a furniture factory that's not far from where I grew up, and the furniture is made in the US. Inexpensive, too, and you can have multiple covers for it. (And so far, the sofa my sister bought has withstood my 4 year old nephew jumping on it, my brother-in-law's football manic sessions, and four moves. Which is more than I can say for my first sofa...)

The catch is that you put it together yourself.

17. If I got a cloth sofa
I'd get it maroon, as in the color of spilled wine, or dark brown as in the color of spilled chocolate ice cream.

I think you see where I'm going with this.

Dark brown leather works good, it's spillproof.

19. I usually look for a tweedy type of fabric that matches my pets' fur.
Works well for carpeting, too. Lots of pillows for actual color, since my dogs and cats come in neutrals.

32. I really like red but
seems like I would tire of it soon. I'm still
stuck on neutral colors for a sofa or cream and
accenting with whatever color pillows for a change.
