Walking to and from work rules!
I am so happy to be a) walking and b) not taking the train, 2 related but distinct benefits of my 100% awesome new job.

I love my neighborhood. I love looking at the brownstones and the people on my way to work. I love stopping in at the different deli's.

The train was such an energy drain. It used to just suck my soul dry on the way to the office, and on the way home.

I am so freakin' blessed.

:)

:bounce:

Bath time for baby.

See you later.

In the meantime, what's one of your favorite things in your daily routine?

1. That sounds great!
Glad you like your new job. The favorite part of my day is when I can work totally alone.

2. I envy you.
My hike from Staten Island into midtown Manhattan kills me every day.

3. That's awesome, dude.
:bounce: I'm jealous! One of my favorite things? The days my daughter and I stop at the food co-op after I pick her up from daycare, and I get to watch and laugh as she charms the pants off of everyone she meets! :)

10. I used to walk to and from work when I lived in a big city...
and when I moved to Mpls., I would walk three miles to and from work as long as the temperature was above 20 degrees.

I love walking with a purpose.

12. Walking everywhere, I've not taken car nor bus nor train
nor any other motorised transport since I moved here.

I could go on for a long time about all the good things now at Usyd, but suffice to say that I spent my first 17 years in HELL (read: Stressful enough to permanently damage my eyes), and now I'm in a wonderful, beautiful place.

Great to hear of your swichlike good fortune.

13. Lucky you!
One of my favorite things about my daily routine is walking out of the building I work in at 4:30. :)

14. 12 yrs ago I walked home from work on the beach every day.
and breathed in the salty warm air, gazed at the moon and stars, and listened to waves laping the sand beneath my feet.
My waitress pockets were full of cash and the whole deal was a great stress reliever.

Walking to and from work rocks.

15. I love it too! I walk from the West Village to my job in Soho
every day (weather permitting) and I actually feel happy when I get to work! I always stop by the dog run in Washington Square park and watch the dogs play for a little while - It always makes me smile or laugh. It's especially nice in the Spring and Fall.
