Most profitable sports teams, (Football, Basketball, Baseball)
Forbes magazine has come out with what your sports team is worth, profit wise. Some of the teams here are teams you would expect to be here, while others will be quite surprising. I will tell you the top 5 for each sport, and if you want to dig a little deeper, I'll have a link so you can look up your team. This is your teams bottom line.

Baseball;
1, New York Yankees, 1.026 billion
2, Boston Red Sox, 617 million
3, New York Mets, 604 million
4, Los Angeles Dodgers, 482 million
5, Chicago Cubs, 448 million

Football;
1, Washington Redskins, 1.3 billion
2, Dallas Cowboys, 1.06 billion
3, New England Patriots, 1.04 billion
4, Philadelphia Eagles, 952 million
5, Houston Texans, 946 million

Basketball;
1, New York Knicks, 543 million
2, Los Angeles Lakers, 529 million
3, Houston Rockets, 422 million
4, Chicago Bulls, 409 million
5, Dallas Mavericks 403 million

Hockey. Forbes will only give you the top team making money, and the bottom team struggling to survive. The top team is the Toronto Maple Leafs at 352 million, (Canadian). About 278 million US, and the bottom team is the Carolina Hurricanes at only 65 million. Remember, this is what your team's profits. Everything is included, not just fannies in the seats.

3. Hey! I Like Football/ Soccer
It's good see my club (Manchester United) at the top and my second favorite (Juventus) at 6th. I just wish Man Utd would have had a better season. The biggest club in football should be at the top of the league but next season is so ours. Juve are on their way to winning the Scudetto, so YAY.

2. I think you're a little confused
this is not how profitable the teams are--this is how much they are valued at if they were to be sold

For instance, in baseball, Forbes estimated that the Yankees lost about $50 million dollars last year, and that the Red Sox and Mets also failed to turn a profit.
