I won a book!
I'm not as bad as I thought (at physics at least). My lecturer said that anyone who could get the equations of motion, period and charge for a charge-capable object suspended between two plates wins a book. 1/2 an hour later, I owned this:

Celebrate with me!

8. Ooh - I remember doing that in college physics.
Congratulations!!

Looks like a nice book, too - lots of geek stuff!

Personally speaking, only people who understand physics should be allowed to vote. Probably the only ones who should be allowed to live, as well, but I know a lot of "liberals" will shit on me for saying that.

I think I'm right, though. What's the point of calling yourself a person if you aren't willing to understand how the universe works? I don't get it.

12. Indeed. And anyone who prefers Maths to physics or bio, as there
is a slim chance they may not be atheist! (I've been told in GD of late that being an atheist I hate religious people. *ahem*.)

15. Really? Some people think that mathematicians are more likely
to be Christian than physicists or biologists? (or at least, "not atheist", though in my experience the only people who seem to give a shit if someone is an atheist are Christians, so I'm probably quite correct in amending your "not atheist" to "Christian".)

Huh. Who'da thought.

I've found Christians and atheists in all fields, and don't seem to notice any particular preponderance of one over the other in terms of "not atheist".

18. Data collected from scientists.
When you get to the stage of those considered 'great scientists' (by whatever society oversees the sciences in America), all but 5-8% of biologists and physicists do not believe in God.

The mathematicians go to 15% odd. (IIRC)

Look, I'll find the study....

43. Marguerite Perrin
There's an American reality show called "Trading Spouses" where each week two very different wives trade families for a week. For this season's opener Marguerite, an extreme fundamentalist, traded places with a UU woman. There was so much great material that they were able to extend it to two full episodes. Marguerite had repeated meltdowns because the UU family wasn't Christian, was into astrology, had a star design on the side of their shed in the backyard, held a Solstice festival while she was there, had mandalas hanging all over the walls in one room in their house, had gargoyle statues in their yard and so on. She kept running around screaming THEIR NOT CHRISTIUUNNNNNS!!!!!! GARGOYLLLLSSSS!!! IT'S ALL DORKSIDED!!!! and stuff like that. It was hilarious as all get out.

Here is her official website if you're really curious/brave.

But I couldn't imagine how trying it must have been to deal with her in person. I give kudos to the family that hosted her for the week. They exhibited extraordinary tolerance dealing with her antics.

type thing?

I'm teasing you. I'm so impressed and you were so kind to explain it to me this morning in a way I could almost begin to understand what you had taken on. You would probably be a brilliant teacher as well.
