Okay, here's the deal: I've hooked up my CD recorder to my eMac and I am trying to record a Streaming show from ther Grateful Dead onto CD. The show is being streamed, however, every few minutes or so, the music stops for about five seconds and it says "rebuffering stream." THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. I don't want these silences on the finished CD, it seriosuly disrupts the flow of the music.

What can I do to prevent this from happening? Is it a memory issue? SOmeone help; I'm utterly clueless when it comes to shit like this. I just recorded a hot 'Shakedown Street" from 1979 that's mostly these tiny gaps, so there's one CD that's going in the wastebasket....bottom line: can I listen to this show, streamed, without the damn computer stopping all the time and "rebufferring?" OR do I just have to deal with it?

1. Sounds like networking issues

2. So should I try doing this again late at night when there's less people

online? I was doing the same thing last night around 2 AM and only got interrupted a few times.

I have DSL, and my streaming buffer size is "small>' i tried "large" and "medium" and got the same, sometimes worse, results.

Is there anything I can do on THIS END to prevent this? Delete some files, maybe?

Can you record it to a file and then burn it?

I'm computer illiterate.

I know I can't save this stream to a file; I got this from the Internet Archive Live Music page, where they have soundboard recordings of the Dead available in streaming format, but not for download. The audience recordings, you can download those. But you can't download the soundboards, you can only stream them. The only way I can get a hard copy of the streamed show is to hook up my CD burner to my Mac via the headphone jack using a RCA>1/4 inch audio cable and record it as it streams. I tried this once a few months ago and had no problems. Now, however, it's been nothing BUT problems.

Maybe your streaming buffer is clogged with resin.

15. Have you checked at etree.org to see if it's downloadable in

shn format? Much better quality than any stream would be, and you can download complete files.
