14. Deutschland?
Isn't that the classic picture that ended the Vietnam war? Cop shot this guy on live television, and this was supposed to be "our" good South Vietnamese government.
I learned about this from page 244 of "Lies my teacher told me."

"Nguyen Ngac Loan, the national police chief of South Vietnam, casually shot this terrified man, suspected of being a Viet Cong sympathizer, on a street in Saigon as an American photographer and television crew looked on. This photograph helped persuade many Americans that their side was not morally superior to the communists. The image is so haunting that, twenty five years later, I have only to cock my fingers like a gun and people who were old enough to read newspapers or watch television in 1968 immediately recall the event and can describe it in some detail."

19. Ironically...
The photographer felt horribly about taking that photograph and for the destruction it wreaked on Loan's life.

The man in question who was shot was arrested merely an hour or two beforehand for his involvement in the execution and slaughter of a fairly large number of women and children.

"The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them, but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths...What the photograph didn't say was, 'What would you do if you were the general at that time and place on that hot day, and you caught the so-called bad guy after he blew away one, two or three American soldiers?'"

"How do you know you wouldn't have pulled the trigger yourself?" Adams asked.

Eddie Adams later apologized in person to General Nguyen and his family for the damage it did to his reputation. When General Nguyen died, Adams praised him as a hero of a just cause:

"The guy was a hero. America should be crying. I just hate to see him go this way, without people knowing anything about him."

22. Ernie was obviously high when he was executed
He knew too much about the bombing in Cambodia and was forcibly doped-up and shot. I bet Bert was carrying out Nixon's hors d'oeuvres. :9

25. Oh please, revisionism
Jim Henson was part of the wider Military-Industrial Complex. Those puppets could only operate on their own with advanced AI due to secret government advances in CPU technology and fast-main memory that remained hidden from the public. There is no other way it could have been done.

Ernie was executed because he knew too much, and he made himself an enemy of the Walker family after leaking that a Bushco front company was operating in Central America exporting Cocaine to the People's Republic of China (the real reason behind Nixon going to China).

Most of the muppets were deployed in Vietnam at some time or other. Gonzo and Fuzzy used their experiences in Vietnam to help train the Contra death squads, which eventually were led by Barbara Bush personally. Barbara Bush operated under her secret Mossad cover-name "Spider" in the time she spent in Guatemala.
