It's June and I smell smoke
except for a nice little storm on Wednesday (47/100ths!) we have had less than 1 inch of rain since September of last year. Sky is very hazy and smells like smoke. Know we aren't on fire because there isn't much left to burn.

Come on, monsoons.

1. There was a little fire at the 118 and the 210 yesterday.
The firebugs are priapic at the thought of western fire season 2006.

5. Freeways.
This is in the northeast cormer of the San Fernando Valley. Point being that I agree with you. This fire season is gonna be long and filled with firebugs. Time for eveyone in the west to clear the brush around their homes.

2. Could the smoke be from this fire?
http://gacc.nifc.gov/swcc/information/azfireinfo/az_information.htm

"MAVERICK WILDLAND FIRE USE (295 acres) is burning in the
Peloncillo Mountains E of Douglas in Coronado National Forest.
The fire is inactive and being monitored. Fore more information,
call Marylee Peterson at (520)-388-8343."

3. Maybe - hard to tell from here where it is coming from, wind is
traveling down Texas Canyon, I am down in the canyon and can't see far - could even be the road median a few miles away - heh.

Can't tell if the crud in the air is all smoke or partly dust off the Willcox Playa. (or New Mexico!)
