25. For me

I'd say I have three really close friends - two are local and I see them regularly. We hang out, talk , drink, and enjoy each others' company. The other has been a best friend for some 15 years but lives across the country. It's amazing to think you'll keep in touch with people that long. But ultimately, when I had problems, he's the one I talked to...My guess is, I'll keep in touch with some of these people until I die...

I think everyone needs atleast one person to confide in at times - whether it be a relative, friend, companian, etc.

As for those I would invite for a party, it'd be quite a bit larger. I have an extended network of friends and that numbers quite a bit larger. Some of them are close, and I'd definetely invite them to a function but I don't have regular contact with them.

The funny thing is, in my case, my three sets of friends don't interact with each other...But they each share very different interests - one group is more intellectual, one is a mix, and the other is less informed and interested in discussing things like politics - which is good because sometimes I need a break.
