Poll question: A Tom Cruise poll: Best performance by a co-star
Best performance by a co-star in a Tom Cruise film. Yeah, I know, everyone hates him, but he's had some great co-stars.

1. Don't hate Tom, but his train fell off the track aways back....
Voted for Jamie Fox.

4. Yeah, it did. Repressed youths screw you up at forty.
Funny, his big rival for a while was Johnny Depp. They kept getting offered the same roles (Edward Scissorhands, Lestat). But Cruise was the solid, sane, upright fellow who everyone loved to work with and who stood up for liberal causes, and Depp was the wild partier on the fast track to self-destruction. Two years ago they reversed, with Depp finally settling down and growing up (mostly--grown-up actors are no fun), and Tom Cruise... I don't know what the hell happened to him! If the stories about Nicole's affairs are true, maybe he just went through midlife crisis. See if he recovers from it. Shirley McClain did the same thing, and it took decades before she was taken seriously again.

2. Xenu or Oprah. It's a toss-up.

6. You mean when he and Oprah co-hosted the Nobel Peace Prize Concert?

3. I voted for Rebecca
I would have voted for the train but it wasn't an option.

She should have been a much bigger star after that, I wonder what happened.

5. I always wondered, too. She stayed an outsider, despite some great roles
She was in Runaway Train, and got a lot of acclaim for it. I saw her in a remake of "And God Created Woman" and she melted the darned celluloid. So she could do HOT, and she could do challenging acting, too. I know she did some stage acting.

I mean, she hasn't exactly flopped, and she's worked steady, she was just never as big as she seemed like she could be. Maybe that was her choice, or the result of doing both stage and screen. I don't know.
