Thanks for the kind remarks about Chevrolet.

4. Great happy cats!
Ginger does look like a burmese, but he's actually not. His mother is mostly grey, and the father was a wild cat around here. But somewhat old genes might have kicked in. When he was born, he was totally white.

Here he is with his brother (left) and his sister (right.) His sister looks like the mother.

That's the killing sound they made if they see a prey from afar. Ginger's sister does it from a mile away; and it's so loud the prey always hears it and is well prepared. :)

44. Aren't most Calicos female??
I had a Calico decide that I was her person--it was 1979 and she was a little kitten. She found me right after a Police Concert, so I called her Regatta. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep her because the landlady lived above me and she was allergic. But I gave her to my sis and that cat lived till 20...she was all spit and vinegar, and honestly she never forgave me for giving her away--like I spoiled the natural order of things.

Miss Patty, the Bombay, forgives me everything I do that bugs her. She must have some canine DNA.

I wanted to call mine Isis or Circe or something exotic, but the SPCA named her Patty, and she's too fat and too down-to-earth for a dramatic name.

47. He probably did.
Niccolò Macchiavelli might have written 'Il Principe', but he sure did nt live the life he described in it. In fact, he was a tender, intellectual guy who wrote poems and a great history of Florence. He just knew politics, and, to my very surprise, it hasn't changed much till today.

71. No, two different litters
I was hoping for two from the same litter, but Grayson captured my heart immediately and only males were left from his litter. Millie was a pound rescue along with her brother. But I draw the line at too much kitty testosterone. So I ended up with two different litters.

I brought them home last Saturday and Grayson kept hissing his little "back off" message to Millie. Tuesday morning I was fixing breakfast with Grayson at my feet when Millie appeared in the kitchen. She hunched her back, puffed her tail and did the most amazing sideways, hissy hop you've ever seen. Just in case we didn't get it, she did it three more times. 15 minutes later they were playing the kittyanapolis 500 through the house, best of friends forever--as exemplified in the photo.

68. Hi Heidi
Ginger isn't going to let that paint brush get away.

Little kitties are so cute.

72. He's an only child.
Well, he has a brother (who lives with my sister-in-law) and a sister (who lives with my mother-in-law), but since we have no human children, for all intents and purposes, The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger is a spoiled, only child who knows no competitors. What Ginger wants, Ginger gets, I'm somewhat ashamed to say. Twice a day, I feed him strips of rare, bloody, deli roast beef from my fingers (the vet says less than 100 grams per day is OK). The up side is, he's better behaved and more socially adept than most human children. But beware if you're a female visitor wearing a skirt and lotion on your legs; you're liable to get a vigorous leg-lickin' from Ginger. This fetish of his has startled several of our female guests.

86. Open the window! Open the window!
The birds want to play with me. ;)

I love the pic of Cassie and her Boen. People seem always to be surprised if cats and dogs go together so well. My sister, who's my neighbour, too, has two dogs, and whenever she goes on a walk, almost the whole cat family is following along with the dogs. It's always nice to see the people's reaction to it. Ginger loves to headbump her poodle. :hi:

93. I have had various combos of cats and dogs for over 20 years.
They have always gotten along. Here is another pair from along ago.

I keep a bird feeder right outside the window too so the cats can watch "Bird TV" anytime!
