12. Um, really a killer SPRINGSTEEN tune.
Bruce gave it to Patti when she was in the studio next door. She added some lyrics.

9. When you pronounce "try" as "tchy,"
you've lost me.

And when you cover "Peace Train" and then apologize for it later because Cat Stevens converts to Islam. (Though it probably also had to do with Cat pronouncing a Catwa on Salman Rushdie.)

10. Oh, the South is gonna rise again!
Terry Adams: What does it mean?
Tom White: It means this centennial is a centennial of blood vengeance! It means... It means we're here to be killed!

Or was that just a Merchant solo cover?

I don't know. I guess I was too busy not listening to them.

13. Natalie Merchant was out of 10,000 Maniacs when they did this song.
She had absolutely nothing to do with it. Mary Ramsey was the singer.

I know a lot about the Maniacs because I went to college in Fredonia, NY during the early eighties. The Maniacs are from Jamestown, NY which is not too far from my college.

On a side note, Mary Ramsey played violin on the unplugged 10,000 Maniacs album (before she became the lead singer).

Mary Ramsey's father was an English professor at my college and I had him for a couple of classes.

She could win the special olympics version of dancing with the stars.

Closes her eyes and puts her hands in the air like a fundie at a Creed concert, too.

Creepy.

Thats probably why.

17. Thank God for that.
There is nothing that will set my teeth on edge faster than her voice unless it's the assholes in Creed or Nickleback.
