1. OK, in 3000 words or less, please explain cricket.
This sould keep you occupied for most of the rest of the evening.

2. The crowd gets loud
from all the adult beverages, and the children are sent into the streets to play a version of stickball.

Cricket is a game that involves people, wood and a ball in competition.

It's fascinating, I tell ya!

4. I think you might be thinking of
widgets.

Euphemisms have no place in sport.

They are developing better tests for euphemisms every week.

22. Absolutely. No place in sports for euphemisms.
I've never heard a sportscaster or seen a sportswriter use one and this is certainly no time to start.

6. I've heard that, but don't know
without a colonoscopy, one can't be sure.

I do predict, however, that the Eagles will finish, once again, in last place in the NFC East. If they do, they will sure look like a bunch of sorry assholes.

So sayeth Jim Bouton.

16. My understanding is
that this occurs when a catcher had a formerly good, and close, relationship with his pitcher, but at a very bad time decides to stand up, put his glove and hand on his hips and yell at the pitcher "I'm not going to take this crap anymore!".

Could be.

17. LOL!

My guess would be it could also happen following a bad bounce.

My Barrett's probably balking pretty good right about now, and for the foreseeable future...bad bounce landed him in the hospital with...

(You might wanna grab an ice pack and sit down for this one)

...an inter-scrotal hemorrhage suffered from just such a bounce in the fifth inning yesterday.

Peyton better watch his passer ratings, because Carson is going to bury him this year.

Now, if the rest of the team can just stay out of jail.........

33. Nope, Kilkenny beat Cork in the Hurling Final today.
Cork were going for 3 in a row and Kilkenny spoiled the party. Fair play though, Kilkenny were going for 3 in a row in 2004 and Cork beat them.

Kerry will be playing Mayo in the Football Final on Sept. 17th. I'm hoping for Mayo to win. It's been 55 years since they last had Sam Maguire and let's face it, Kerry's had more than their fair share, 33 at last count.

As for the North American Senior Football Final, the club Mr. Wonderful played for here in Chicago (many moons ago) won today in Philadelphia, the Wolfe Tones. I'm thrilled for them, they really deserved to win it again.

UP MAYO AND UP THE TONES!!!!

26. Which marching band performed for the first Super Bowl
The National Football League (NFL) champion Green Bay Packers scored 3 second-half touchdowns en route to a 35–10 win over the American Football League (AFL) champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Green Bay quarterback Bart Starr earned the very first Super Bowl MVP in NFL history by throwing 16 of 23 for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

30. Hah!
There was no marching band. Up With People sang and danced, and pretty much chased everyone out of the stadium.

Only someone named "lonely Bob" saw the second half. And no one trusts him when he says Tulsa won.

31. Double hah.
The entertainment of Super Bowl I pales in comparison to the performances featured in the Super Bowls of today. Instead of performances by the top contemporary singers and musicians, the first Super Bowl featured American trumpeter Al Hirt, and the marching bands of University of Arizona and University of Michigan. <1>

a bunch of people who have feet.

Will they win? I say count the number of toes on all those feet. Whoever causes an odd number to happen will cause their team to lose.
