WOW! Who just saw New Orleans lose to Jacksonville?
The Saints needed to win today to get into the playoffs.

They were losing to Jacksonville, 20-13. The Jaguars punted the ball, and the Saints returned idt to the 25 or so.

With time winding down, the Saints passerd it to about the 50, where the receiver made the first of many lateral passes, eventually scoring on what could be the play of the year in the NFL.

20-19 Jaguars.

The Saints sought to tie it at 20 to send the game into overtime by going for 1. (Going for 2 to win it in regulation would have been a lot riskier, but going for 1 is basically a sure thing.)

THEY MISSED THE EXTRA POINT ATTEMPT!!

20-19, Jaguars won, New Orleans won't be going to the playoffs.

5. He's been griping about Mitch Berger's placements for a while.
And he complains that the brand new turf in the dome takes ten yards off his FGs. Granted this was a road game, but he's been hinkey in the head for about six games. I'm guessing we'll have a new place kicker next season.

But... this could only happen to the Saints.

We'll get 'em next year. Meh.

4. sigh
To repeat an old joke: Why can't Bay St. Louis have a professional football team? Because then New Orleans would want one.
