It's just a simple 3 lb. roast, with a marinade. It's been on high for at least an hour or two. How long should I keep it in for?

1. I usually keep it on low-medium and cook long but
a 3-lb roast should be done in 2.5-3 hours. Slow-cooking on low generally yields better results IMHO.

By the way, I'm making pot roast tonight too! :-)

2. Cook by internal temperature.
Don't cook by time or appearance. :)

5. Roasts in the crockpot
Long, slow, moist heat. For starters, it will turn out better if it is cooked on low heat. The high setting will make it tougher. Next time, start it early in the morning, and let it go on low all day. You'll have a wonderfully tender piece of meat, with lots of yumminess that can be made into gravy....

Bon Appetit!
