Today is International Peace Day 9-21
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 09:44 AM by johnnie
Happy Peace Day people!

It's too bad this day isn't getting the recognition that American Idol results, new I-pods, Ann Coulter's book release, georgie raking leaves on vacation, or wars on Christmas. I remember in the 90s when stuff like this was going on all the time. Peace wasn't a bad word and things were going pretty well. It's a shame that this administration has bent this country over and slammed them hard.

So today, let's all remember that peace *is* possible and it is the only way that the future generations will be able to live in a better world than we do. They have that right and we have no right taking that away from them. Peace to everyone here at DU. Love ya all!

As I walk through

This wicked world

Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity.

I ask myself

Is all hope lost?

Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?

And each time I feel like this inside,

There's one thing I wanna know:

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

And as I walked on

Through troubled times

My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes

So where are the strong

And who are the trusted?

And where is the harmony?

Sweet harmony.

'Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry.

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

So where are the strong?

And who are the trusted?

And where is the harmony?

Sweet harmony.

'Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry.

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

What's so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?
