7. I am trying to change my sleep habits because I have to get up early

9. The hours are killing for the second week..

We open at 7 AM and we have to be there at 6AM, for 7 days.

We will have some long lines for this election, and we work at a very busy location.

That cuppa java is so big I had to hunt around to find the "reply" button! :)

Already finished my first cuppa cappu, though, so now I need to go fill the bird feeders in case I go back to sleep and don't wake up before they're ready for their breakfast.

I've already been to sleep TWICE and waked up again TWICE, so I may just give up on it.

First time was during MNF, probably due to the fact that the Eagles started blowin' it out in the second half. Then when my night pain meds wore off, around 3 a.m. as usual, I woke up again. My sleep "habits" have gotten pretty strange since I turned 50 -- they say that happens to most people, something to do with not needing as much sleep when you get to be a "senior"?

Like, what? They think we've had enough sleep already if we live long enough? :D

So okay, I just learned to post embedded pics, so here's my favorite mug shot:



Oh, I forgot to mention I meant "mug shot" of my children....

Sweet Sadie (on the left above, border collie mix) is waiting for me in the Great Beyond now, but Bebo is still very much with me here and now.



Of course, he made life a study in patience for Sadie at times, but she loved him anyways -- just like me! :rofl:

He was so feisty even when he was a baby, but Sadie put him in his place and taught him manners better than I could. Good thing, too, or she mighta lost an eye!

12. Herding dogs make the best moms.

We had a German Shepherd that did an excellent job of raising whatever kittens we brought home. If the cats got out of line, the Shepherd was running over to gently knock them down and put them in a submissive position before we could even yell at the cat. And until they got too big, she'd carry them around by the scruff. Yep, two out of our four cats act exactly like little dogs, because of this. It's funny as hell.

You're so right, too. I've had only a few cats, but adopted a tiny orange tabby once when I already had an Irish Setter mix -- "Flash," for his color, of course.

We named the cat "Junior Junior" because his daddy's name was Junior! :rofl:

But he took to Flash immediately and I was surprised to see the otherwise flighty setter (not a herding dog but close) turn all daddy-like with that kitten. They played together a lot, Flash chasing Junior Junior around and all over the furniture, especially the recliner which rocked when Junior and then Flash would leap off the top of it!

Flash made a good doggie parent to that kitten, though he neglected the "mom" things a herding dog would've taught him by instinct. But Junior always did behave more like a dog than a cat!

And they BOTH loved to ride on my motorcycle with me!! (Wish I had pics of THAT!) :rofl: :crazy:

I did! I really did sleep well! It was one of those "good sleeping weather" nights. The window open, the rain pitterpattering. The cat pushing at us so he can get the choice bed spots. The dog dancing around, nails clicking on the hardwood, because she thinks she wants out one more time... It was a glorious night! :hug:
