6. Then you should get hold of...
... some really good organically-sourced smoked salmon.

Tastes sublime, and does not leave you with the dreaded "fish-scent"

41. And/or use stainless steel when washing
They sell little blocks of stainless steel just for that purpose if you don't feel comfortable using the blade of your chopping knife. Don't know if it works for salmon, but it works for onions, peppers, and garlic.

Wow, i love it. I spent some time in Alaska and got used to having lots of it, and cheap. Now back in N.C. it's almost impossible to get the real stuff, that i can afford at any rate.

26. Depends on what kind, where you got it, etc....
I live in the NW so salmon is almost a daily staple around here. A fillet sauteed in butter, garlic and ginger really hits the spot. I like it smoked but not too often. A lot depends on where you get it from too, like New York City......

NEW YORK CITY!?!?!

30. I'm lucky enough to live in NYC...
...so I go down to Russ and Daughters for INCREDIBLE smoked salmon, hand-whipped cream cheese. I have my red onion and heirloom tomatoes sliced super-thin, small handful of capers, a generous squeeze of lemon and fresh-ground black pepper-- and it's all on an H & H bagel still warm from the oven. Then I eat another.

This Presbyterian boy from Pittsburgh is in Heaven.

but couldn't stand smoked salmon down at Katz's Delicatessen on Houston Street.

More power to you, Presbyterian boy from Pittsburgh!

However, I should add that I do like smoked whitefish. Go figure...

36. There's nothing like homemade smoked salmon in a jar
done the Indian way. Had some yesterday and had the leftovers today --- it really does depend on what kind of salmon and how it's prepared. If your first taste of salmon was bad stuff you probably think you don't like it and never want to try it again.
