141 pounds gone so far
I lost 2 pounds over Christmas week. What a surprise! But one I'll accept.

I'm hoping 2004 will be the year I reach my goal and we get regime change in DC at the same time! :)

18. I am and your welcome
you dont even know whats on it :), its a summer sausage sandwhich on Schmidt's Italian bread, kinda funny isn't it, its called Schmidt's Italian and Schimdt is as German as names come. I've told you how I plan to come to Boston in the summer, it seems likely and all but no red sox game :(, I looked at the schedule last night, and seems they are on the road, and besides its the year of the bird :) next year with Tejada at SS, Lopez at catcher, and more to come :).

5. OMG, I need coffee before DU
When I first read this, I interpreted it as "...a regime change in DU" and I was thinking, man that's some bold shit to be saying!!!

Congrats on the weight-loss though. You should be very proud. Mind if I ask how you're doing it?

10. I had to go back and read what I wrote
Pheww, I was afraid I typed something wrong. :)

I'm doing it basically by portion control (a major eye-opener for me), lots of water, and exercise. I weigh and measure almost everything whenever possible. I've been doing this for almost 2 years now so I have a pretty good idea of what things weigh and how much I should eat. It's a complete change in what and how I eat and I'll never be able to go back to eating uncontrollably (is that a word?) like I've done for so many years.

I haven't eliminated anything from my "diet" either. Ok, except maybe M&Ms and Hershey kisses. I have a hard time with self-control where they're concerned.

And thanks. :)

21. My wife and I
own a health club.

We counsel a lot of people on weight loss. The biggest things we teach them is to eat more often and portion control.

And also that liquid carbs count. A woman went home mad at me last week because I told her that juice has carbs. She grabbed the bottle to bring in and prove me wrong when she noticed the label and saw that she was consuming and extra 400 calories per day from apple juice and orange juice.

Keep up the good work, loser.

12. I started in March of 2002
So it's almost 2 years. I wish it was coming off faster but I know the slow loss is better in the long run.

The nurses at my doctor's office let me jump on the scale once a week and they help to keep me accountable. I posted earlier about how I'm doing it.

Thanks! :)

33. Awesome!
I just surpassed the 50 mark myself (been going since 1/03) and I have 20 more to go to reach my goal. (Well though, there is about 169 pounds I could also stand to lose, but that matter is unrelated. )

I've done it by cuttind down on portion sizes, exercise, and drinking lots of water. I also feel it's important not to deprive myself of things so I have the attitude that all things are ok in moderation. In that regard, it's sort of like Weight Watchers...as long as I keep track of what I eat and account for it it's ok.

I also log everything I eat and I keep a journal which actually helps to keep me focused.
