I agree I think Snyder is not using the best judgement from what I can see. But the Gibbs/Betheard days are long past.

6. Hold it the ole ball coach says he DIDN'T resign
"I have not resigned," Spurrier said by cellphone. "I've got a representative looking into some issues but I have not resigned. If they say that I have, that is not true. I'm not sure it is heading in that direction right now. We are seeing where it goes but I have not resigned."

3. interesting
I don't care for the Redskins but everyone around here is rabid about them. This is a surprise. Last week he was saying he wasn't going to quit.

4. I hate to see him go...
but his coaching style didn't translate to the NFL. The fun-n-gun may have worked at FL, but defenses in the NFL are too canny and fast for that noise. Also, he let Stephen Davis get away.

5. He should have stayed at Florida.
The guy had a dynasty going there. It could have been another Bear Bryant at Alabama thing. He didn't recruit, he selected. Warm weather. Two million a year and more if he wanted it plus perks. Plenty of golf courses. An alumini that worshipped you.

Washington should have known he wasn't a pro-type coach. He never did anything outstanding with the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL.

9. Just talked to a co-worker it is official he DID resign
HE heard it on the radio and got about 6 phonecalls on it (season ticket holder)

He said that there was some mention that Superior may be headed to NEbraska I find that hard to believe.

And then they will owe you $15,000,000.00. That is a heck of a lot of golf balls.

13. I think this is all about 15 million dollars
If Spurrier resigns then he gets zero. If he is fired or his contract is bought out then he gets all or some of it.

BTW - Where is Dennis Green? We got a Burgundy and Gold fishing pole waiting for him in DC. :D

College systems do not work in the pros. Two more years of Spurrier and the quarterback would have been killed.

18. good news
Spurrier was perhaps the most unprofessional coach in the NFL. and the ways he slunk out the back door is typical. The guy is getting 5 million dollars a year and he doesn't have the balls to resign in person, he has his AGENT do it. He calls, quits, and leaves others to deal with the mess (and the crap about his cell phone dying? please.)

Spurrier never took responsiblity for anything. time to leave, Steve-o, enjoy beating up on South West Mississippi Baptist Tech, you aren't ready for Prime Time...

20. Snyder is INDEED destroying this Great Franchise
I am very disappointed in Spurrier, but his boss is a jerk. I am very angry at the NFL for letting this little twerp own a football team, let alone this incredibly valuable franchise. I grew up with a Great Redskins team as well as Great Orioles teams (now there's another exceptionally horrible owner). Now, these stupid little twerps that probably can't even throw a ball are ruining my teams. Of course, they are their teams...certainly not mine, maybe that's the problem

The 'Skins will regain their old glories when Danny Boy either sells the team or completely removes himself from the management.

22. Danny might be getting himself fitted for a coaching hat
Sorry I know that is a really sad visual to have plus he can't coach. If that were possible Jerry Jones would already be on the sideline.

Growing up in SE Va. and now Richmond I understand the loyalty that Skins fans show and they stick with them through most anything but almost all of them can't stand Snyder either. I am a (gulp) Cowboys fan (sorry it started in childhood and despite my friends giving me a free pass to switch teams a few years ago I stuck with them) and as I have matured :+ I hate the SKins less than I used to but I still respect their fans who still talk about THE game which is the Skins game that week no matter what their record is. Hell they got a playoff determining game bumped from coverage last year to see the Skins Cardinals game.

YEah Snyder sucks and so does the Orioles owner. A sad state for two great teams and their fans.
